WhatsThatPic tries to recognise objects in images and tells what they might be, reading the recognised image categories out aloud. You can either select images from your album or make a snapshot. The app shows possibilities and limitations of current machine learning technology on a mobile device. It uses an artificial intelligence technology called “deep neural networks” running locally on your device – there is no server involved.
